LAHORE: The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) and Lahore Parking Company (LPC) have signed an agreement whereby all taxi stands run by the LTC will be transferred to the LPC for establishing infrastructure on modern lines.

The initiative would help streamline management of these stands by keeping in view affordable, economical and safe transport facilities to the public.

This agreement would pave the way towards eliminating the illegal parking stands and would be helpful in resolving traffic problems at various locations in metropolis.

In accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement, the LPC would develop the infrastructure needed for the project.

Probationary officers

A delegation of 34 probationary officers from Pakistan Administrative Service visited the headquarters of the LTC on Thursday as part of their training course on Urban Development in Civil Service Academy Lahore.

The senior officials of LTC briefed the participants in detail through presentations and interactive sessions.

The participants showed special interest in the free transport cards for the disabled and senior citizens, concessional student transport cards, comprehensive regulatory mechanism of public transport on various urban routes in Lahore and appreciated the various projects initiated by keeping in view the public private partnership model.
