In a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of the Joint Action Committee of PIA Employees, he assured them of the management’s support. “We will provide better facilities to employees and their performance will be judged on pure merit,” he said.
Yousufzai said the employees housing scheme will continue, and their children provided subsidy in education allowance. Car and motorcycle easy installment loans will also be provided to employees as well as marriage allowance to the needy on a case to case basis, he added.
“We will achieve success with the combined efforts of all employees. We are not afraid of prevailing competition in the aviation industry,” he further said, adding all efforts will be made to make PIA a profitable and successful airline.
He said establishment of a PIA foundation is his aim through which PIA employees, especially the retired will benefit. Work on this project will start soon and may involve transfer of some non-core activities to the PIA Foundation, which will not only generate revenue but also result in savings for PIA.
President, Pakistan Airlines Pilots Association, Sohail Baluch extended full support and cooperation to the new managing director.
