“All the arrangements have been made to deal with any untoward situation,” he said.
Pakpattan DCO Kamran Yousuf said around 315 religious gatherings and 75 processions will be organised in Pakpattan while approximately 1,242 police personnel and hundreds of volunteers will perform security duties on Ashura.
“Now it is the responsibility of our religious scholars to deliver the message of brotherhood and harmony in their speeches,” he said.
Local peace committees have been formed to maintain peace in the district while a number of closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) have also been installed along the routes of processions to monitor the situation.
Rescue 1122 staff members have been deployed at imambargahs to deal with any emergency and rescue mobile points have also been established to provide medical treatment to mourners.
