A day after local politicians cast doubts on India's claim of 'surgical strike' along the Line of Control (LoC), Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed on Wednesday his ministers and party’s leaders not to issue statements on the controversial action.

The Indian government has given a clear warning to all the senior leaders and ministers to refrain from “chest thumping” and speaking without prior permission, NDTV reported.

The Indian claim of carrying out ‘surgical strike’ is still shrouded in mystery, whereas Pakistan insists no such activity took place on its side of the LoC.

India claims arrest of ‘Pakistani pigeon’ with message for Modi

The development comes a day after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and Congress party accused the Indian government of trying to gain political mileage at the cost of national security, urging Modi to release video evidence of the purported action.

Last week, Pakistan Army took local and foreign journalists on a rare visit to forward locations along the de-facto border. The purpose of the embedded tour was to allow journalists to independently investigate the Indian claim.

Delhi CM 'questions' authenticity of India’s ‘surgical strikes’ in Pakistan

Interestingly, India’s state minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has already accepted that “no aerial operations were included in the operation”. Rathore’s remarks endorsed the version of the army’s media wing, ISPR, which insisted: “there has been no surgical strike by India, instead there had been cross-border fire initiated and conducted by India.”

Tensions between the two arch rivals have been boiling since the Indian government accused Pakistan-based militants of launching an assault on an army base in Uri sector of occupied Kashmir last month that killed 18 Indian army soldiers.

At least 100 demonstrators have so far been killed due to the occupied military’s indiscriminate use of force against Kashmiri masses.

'India shooting fake video to validate claim'

Meanwhile, a lawmaker from Indian-held Kashmir has warned that Indian army is shooting a fake video of "surgical strike" to authenticate their claim.

"There was no exchange of fire during the last 20 days before the said strikes,” says Engineer Sheikh Abdul Rashid in the five-minute-long video posted on YouTube. “Opposition is now asking for the proof.”

He praised the role of Pakistan, which briefed international media about the false Indian claims at the LoC.
