A province for Fata

PESHAWAR: This is with reference to Asad Munir’s article of May 2 ‘Fata should not be made a province’. Given a choice, not even one per cent of the tribesmen employed in the settled districts would like to serve in the tribal areas. If Fata is to become a province, all these people and those talking ad nauseum on various channels will have to go back and participate in the development of their area. I recently came across an interview of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa environment minister where he argued for a separate province for Fata. I wonder will he ever return to his native Bara in Khyber Agency to oversee its development if a new province is made.
