New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with ink on Tuesday just days after questioning the authenticity of "surgical strikes" carried out by Indian forces.

The chief of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was attending a condolence meeting at the home of a local leader of his party in Rajasthan when he was attacked with ink.

After Delhi CM, Congress demands evidence of Indian 'surgical strike'

Kejriwal took to Twitter saying, "God bless those who threw ink at me. I wish them well."

According to NDTV,  police sources said Dinesh Ojha, a leader of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, a student body linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been taken into custody.

Further, witnesses said Kejriwal was leaving the home of AAP's Shankar Sevadas around 10pm when Dinesh Ojha threw ink at him for being "anti-national".

Earlier, Kejriwal urged Indian premier Narendra Modi to release evidence of the ‘strikes’ which are still shrouded in mystery. Pakistan has already ripped to shreds the farcical claim as an “illusion being deliberately generated by India to create false effects”.

Meanwhile, another Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam on Tuesday termed the claim fake and said the BJP-led Indian government was trying to derive political mileage from it.

Tensions between the two arch rivals have been boiling since the Indian government accused Pakistan-based militants of launching an assault on an army base in Uri sector of occupied Kashmir last month that killed 18 Indian army soldiers.

Many took to Twitter after the Delhi CM broke the news.
