ABBOTTABAD: Comstats ranked  topmost university in the country As many as 796 fresh graduates were awarded  degrees during the annual convocation of Comsats University’s Abbottabad campus on Monday.

The  University Rector,  Dr Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi conferred degrees upon young men and women who had graduated from the departments of Pharmacy and Engineering at the university’s Abbottabad campus.

Of these graduates 273 were awarded degrees of BS civil, electrical and electronics engineering. PhD degrees were also awarded.

Dr Zaidi,  said that after 16 years, the varsity  had managed to reach the topmost rank among 180 universities of the country. He lamented that apart from Comsats, no other Pakistani university had made it to the international list of 500 universities.

Referring to research papers published by the university, Dr Zaidi said they had 1,200 publications last year. However, he said the varsity was aiming to raise these to 1,600 this year.
