Economic stability: ‘Reforms in agriculture sector will boost economy’

BAHAWALPUR: All available resources will be utilised to resolve various problems being faced by the farmers, while reforms in agriculture sector will boost economy.

This was said by Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar while presiding a meeting of Divisional Agriculture Advisory Committee at his office on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Coordination Additional Commissioner Syed Waseem Hassan, Agriculture EDO Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad and others.

The commissioner directed the officials concerned to update record of agriculture land. He also directed the officials of irrigation department to check theft of irrigation water and take stern action against those involved.

Meanwhile, Saqib Zafar said the security arrangements and other relevant measures have been finalised for 516 Ashura processions. He further said control rooms have also been established for the implementation of the security plan.
