Twin blasts damage railway tracks near Hyderabad

Tracks were repaired soon after and the service resumed, investigations were started to find the culprits.

HYDERABAD:
Twin blasts damaged railway tracks at Udero Lal railway station near Hyderabad early Tuesday morning.

However, the tracks were repaired soon after the blast and rail service has resumed now.

Police, bomb disposal squad and railway officials reached the spot after the blasts and cordoned off the area.


Police reportedly found a leaflet from a nationalist organisation near the crime scene.

The Investigations SP said they cordoned off the area and had started investigations to arrest the culprits, but that no arrests have been made so far.

The past week has seen railway tracks in Sindh targeted in explosions that disrupted services and produced panic. On Saturday, a blast on railway tracks near Kotri suspended rail services for a few hours. On Friday, 10 low-intensity explosions caused havoc at railway tracks across Sindh, from Setharja in Sukkur to Sindh.
