The caravan, led by the party's provincial president MNA Dr Arif Alvi and leaders Haleem Adil Sheikh and Sardar Aziz, started the journey from Insaf House. The caravan consisted of six buses and more than 10 cars.
Talking to the media before departing, Alvi said that PTI chairperson Imran Khan is not fighting for himself but for the entire country. He added that this is why the people of Sindh, including Karachi, have welcomed his call of carrying out a protest against the government. Alvi claimed that the party will gather people from across the country. He added that the justice system of the country has failed and it is high time to raise this matter together with the people of Pakistan. "We have decided to remain peaceful throughout our journey but if the ruling party is going to put deliberate hurdles in our way, then the government will be responsible for consequences," Alvi said.
Another caravan of the party also left on Wednesday for Lahore by train, in the leadership of party's Karachi division senior vice-president Khurram Sher Zaman. More people from Sindh will join the caravan, PTI spokesperson Dawa Khan Sabir said, adding that many people are expected to join from the outskirts of Lahore too.
