KARACHI:

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said he has decided to develop a system under which business activities will function from the morning till evening.

"This habit of starting business day [late] at shops and markets will be brought to an end," he said, while addressing a programme organised by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) at the KCCI building on Wednesday.

Citing his own example, he said, breaking old habits, he starts his day early morning and the cabinet and bureaucracy then followed suit.

He said that now businesspersons and traders have to follow in his footsteps by opening their shops and markets at 9am and wind up their work by 6pm or 7pm. "I need your support for the purpose because I know that actual resistance could come from your side," he said, addressing the office-bearers of the chamber. He also announced that proper timings will be enforced for marriage halls along with a one-dish tradition. Shah also criticised the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), saying  they have forced the government officers to stop working.
