A few days ago, it was reported that Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan was set to commence shooting for a Nitin Kakkar film being produced by Salman Khan Films.

However, Kakkar has denied the news, The Indian Express reports. "I haven’t signed Fawad. I have read the news in papers which is surprising because I haven’t signed Fawad yet," he said.

He said he was considering a number of actors on this account and nothing had been finalised as of yet. "I am doing a film for Salman Khan and BR Chopra. We are meeting several actors. Nothing has been signed yet or put to paper yet," Kakkar said.

Denying reports making the rounds regarding his venture, Kakkar said, “Someone over enthusiastic wrote that. I am not making any urban love story with Fawad. Nothing like that. We are still in the process of casting actors. Nothing concrete yet. And as soon as someone is signed, we will also announce. Right now speculations are being made,” he said.

Speaking about the ongoing MNS threats to Pakistani artists amid India-Pakistan tensions, the director said, "An artist doesn’t belong to any religion or country. They are pigeons of peace who carry the flag of peace in their hands. Be it cricket, theatre, music or films, if you ban them then your last hope for peace will end."

"Whatever is alive is because of us artists. If we hand everything to politicians they would have destroyed it by now. It’s absurd and stupid which we know. The claims they are making are only for their own vote banks," he added.
