According to unofficial results, PML-N’s Ghazanfar Ali won the UC-48 chairman seat by securing 5,248 votes. His opponent, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Imtiaz Malik, came in second with 4,425 votes.
In UC-49, PML-N candidate Zaki Haider won the chairman’s seat by securing 2,919 votes while an independent candidate, Malik Jamshaid, managed to get 2,745 votes.
These seats were vacated by Syed Zeesh Ali Naqvi and Chaudhry Azam after they were elected as deputy mayors of Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC). According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), 17,900 voters were registered in UC-48. The UC consists of Sarai-Kharbooza and Sangjani.
In UC-49, 8,800 voters are registered and it consists of the Shah Alllah Ditta area.Polling started at 8am and continued till 5pm without interval.
