ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to relocate the Chaghi Mountains’ model, installed near Faizabad Bridge, to the Fatimah Jinnah Park (F-9 Park).

The decision to move the monument has been taken due to construction of a signal free corridor from Zero Point to Rawat.

The model of Chaghi Mountains was installed to commemorate the nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan back in 1998.  Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz directed all officials concerned to move the model to F-9 Park.

The signal-free corridor is being built to resolve the increasing problem of traffic congestion on the Islamabad Expressway. The congestion continues from Faizabad, the main entry and exit point to Islamabad from Rawalpindi, through Islamabad Expressway and Murree Road.
