India incapable of waging war on Pakistan, experts say

International experts and analysts believe India lacks the intelligence and capabilities needed to execute targeted strikes or wage a limited war in Pakistani territory.

US lawmakers move bill to designate Pakistan a terrorist state

Most experts say successive Indian governments have been unable to build such capabilities. Media chatter is resonating across India on why the air force should carry out surgical air strikes against Pakistan. But many believe it would not be easy as Pakistan has robust air defence systems. There are also doubts about whether India has built capabilities or possesses measures for unconventional deterrence.

Defence analyst Ajai Shukla is also of the view that India has only escalated rhetoric against Pakistan but not created sufficient military capabilities and planning structure needed to tackle its arch rival. Now, the government appears to have become a prisoner of its own bluster. “The danger of being trapped in your own rhetoric is that you can be forced into an aggressive response and then be ill-equipped to handle the escalation,” Shukla says.

Pakistan won’t cower to threats, Nisar warns India

Indian officials have also cautioned against any adventurism following the military asking the govt to consider ‘surgical strikes’, covert military operations or hot pursuits inside Pakistani territory, adding that Pakistan is no Myanmar, where Indian Para-SF troops conducted a transborder raid to take out militants in June 2015. “The government has to take into account that any strike inside Pakistan can escalate into an all-out war. Pakistan, of course, often threatens first-use of tactical nuclear weapons if it is attacked by India,” an official said.

India and Pakistan are facing a war-like situation after militants attacked an army base in Indian-occupied Kashmir on Sunday, killing 18 soldiers. India has blamed the attack on a Pakistan-based group, despite denials from Islamabad. It accuses Pakistan of supporting ‘militant’ attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, which both claim in full but rule only in part.

India blatantly trying to deflect attention from Kashmir: Aziz

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently raised the stakes in their decades-old feud by expressing support for separatists within Pakistan. Pakistan denies any role in cross-border terrorism, and has called on the United Nations and the international community to investigate atrocities it alleges have been committed by the security forces in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Guys do not get your eyes off the Target Kashmir, we all know with both nations as nuclear powers no chance of a conventional war, all this rhetoric is to deviate attention from Kashmir, you may never know this attack on Indian military camp might have had been done by Indian agencies to detract from the core issue/ Kashmir as well as to give some reason for the atrocities faced by kashmiris. i wish our Foreign office and PM do not go easy on INDIA for what its doing in kashmir. Kind of funny none of the experts are ex army personal. The reason for not fighting a war is simple. India has painfully went from $200 billion GDP to $ 2 Trillion in 25 years. It is not a big deal to fight a war and split Pakistan into pieces like we did before. Pakistan has nothing to lose except perhaps Lahore. All the other cities don’t even have proper roads. Regardless of that there are other alternatives. We will make Pakistan pay just wait and see. Recommend

In the whole process it was all Pakistani doing, then FO issuing one statement after another, then Pakistan media discussion military options available for India and then giving verdict finally that India is incapable of having a war.

There has been no rhetoric build up by Indian government, maybe from Indian media.

Just wondering – Pakistan is ready and prepared for war with India. Shouldn’t it first check if Jaish e Mohammad carried out the attack in Uri? India has alleged it did. Is it not worth investigating and shutting out these guys if found culpable? Readying for war without this basic step amounts to Pakistan’s complicity in the Uri atacjk.Recommend

For any sane person that doesn’t idealize people like Donald Trump can see what brings when you take military action against an ideology. Its easy to promote extremism and violence (like the US and Pakistan did in the 70’s and 80’s against USSR) but its far difficult to control its repercussions.
Its better for India to come to talks. Understand the wishes of Kashmiri people and neutralize the enmities. Believe me, Pakistanis (likes of Hafiz Saeed) opposing to such an approach by India will be far far less in numbers than India’s worst of worst estimationsRecommend

India can keep living in a fools paradise and her presstitute media can continue to spew out venom against Pakistan. Stepping into war is not a childs play and they know it.
The fools who say they will nuke Pakistani Punjab so that its land wont grow anything for the next 800 years should remember the impact any such adventurism will have on global warming. You must either be kidding or very naive! Before India decides to attack a CPEC target with “a few missiles”, it will have to gather the guts to defend a full-scale war with Pakistan (most prolly nuclear) as a repercussion. CPEC is an ambitious project for Pakistan and trying to sabotage it with an official attack from Indian soil will only lead to a full-scale war, and Pakistan will most prolly lose CPEC after that but India will have to bear greater damages than those done by the burns from the thought of Pakistan’s progression post-CPEC. Why do you even….
All your dumbfounded govt stakeholders will be doing is carrying out proxy attacks on CPEC like it has been doing on its own people and army soldiers for years. But, this even will only gain India instability at the hands of Pakistan, China, and their allies.Recommend

If attacking an Indian air base doesn’t start a full scale war I doubt attacking a few Chinese engineers would warrant a nuclear exchange.
