KARACHI: Shahzad Rafique’s Salute has been experiencing multiple delays for a while. But the film – based on the real life story of Aitzaz Hasan Bangash, who sacrificed his life to save his schoolmates from a suicide attack in 2014 – is now set to release on December 2. In this connection, the film’s official trailer has also been launched, showing child actor Ali Mohtesham as Bangash and Ajab Gul, Saima Noor as his parents.

The trailer for Salute follows the 14-year-old’s relationship with his family, his aspiration to join the army and antagonists’ preparation for the villainous attack in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Depicting Hasan as the hero that he turned out to be and evoking a sense of heroism, the upcoming film intends to ignite the national fervour within the audiences.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Rafique said the promotions and marketing are going to start early in November. “For the campaign, I am going to bring Hasan’s family to talk about him. We plan to tour universities and colleges as youngsters are our target audience.” The director maintained that he is not trying to profit from Salute .
