Imambargah attack: Shaheed policeman laid to rest  

A special contingent of the Sindh police presented the `Shaheed Salam' to Qureshi

KARACHI: The namaz-e-janaza of Shaheed policeman Rafiq Qureshi, who was injured in the bomb blast at a Shikarpur imambargah on Eid Day and died later, was offered at SSU Headquarters on Friday. The funeral was attended by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Rangers director-general Major General Bilal Akbar, Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja, senior officials and relatives and friends of the deceased. A special contingent of the Sindh police presented the `Shaheed Salam' to Qureshi. Khawaja praised the bravery of the slain cop in the line of duty to protect the lives and property of the people, informed a police spokesperson. The IG also announced a grant of Rs5 million, a plot, a job in the police department and monthly salary till retirement for the heirs of the Shaheed policeman.
