Rangers' action: Two held in failed robbery bid

KARACHI: The Rangers on Friday claimed to have foiled a robbery bid at the Saylani Welfare Trust's office while arresting two suspects.

The suspects, identified as Abdullah and Khaday Khan, were arrested from near Numaish Chowrangi. The Rangers spokesperson said four robbers entered the office of the Saylani Welfare Trust and looted Rs2,375,915.

The spokesperson said that reacting on the information, Rangers reached the site and arrested two of the suspects while the remaining escaped. The Rangers also recovered the looted money and the safe. Later, the paramilitary force handed over the custody of the suspects to the police for further investigation.

In a separate incident, the Rangers arrested four suspects during targeted raids conducted in Landhi and Baldia Town localities. The spokesperson said two of the suspects belonged to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and one was from a banned outfit. Weapons were also recovered from them.
