ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open Universities (AIOU) has thrashed out a plan to further upgrade 44 regional offices in term of infrastructure and enhanced academic facilities.

It includes the provision of e-learning facilities, renovation of existing buildings and setting up of well-equipped libraries as well as accessibility centres for visually-impaired students, said a press release on Thursday.

The regional libraries will now be open on weekends as well.

It was also decided to improve the regional offices’ administrative and services network for improving and expanding quality education throughout the country.
