India  launched a scathing attack on Pakistan as it raised the issue of alleged human rights violations in Balochistan at United Nations on Wednesday.

Addressing the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), India raised the issue of alleged human rights violations by the country’s military establishment across the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Pakistan rejects Indian claims of restraint in Indian Kashmir

“It will be in the fitness of things if Pakistan focuses its energies on improving the human rights situation within Pakistan and AJK,” said Ajit Kumar India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, said in a statement at the 33rd Session of the UNHRC at Geneva.

“Pakistan is characterised by authoritarianism, absence of democratic norms and widespread human rights violations across the country, including Balochistan,” he added.

The statement comes weeks after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced his decision to raise the Balochistan issue on international forums.

Pakistan to account for violations in Balochistan: Modi

The statement came soon after Pakistan rejected Indian claims of restraint in Indian Kashmir as “simply preposterous”.

The Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Ambassador Tehmina Janjua, welcomed remarks by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding use of excessive force by Indian authorities in Indian Kashmir.

“Pakistan supported the position of the High Commissioner that an OHCHR team should visit IoK to independently and impartially investigate the grave violations being perpetrated by Indian occupation forces over the past two months,” Janjua said.

Pakistan and India are engaged in a heated war of wars following one of the deadliest clashes in Kashmir.

It is Pakistan itself to blame as it did literally invited India to internationalize Baluchistan and now the result is India is on full swing of aggressive diplomacy highlighting both Baluchistan and POK in UN and throughout the world.Recommend

So India and Pakistan have now decided to break each other’s country. Can there not be a sane solution? For Kashmir, make it a common island between India and Pakistan – both sides give complete freedom to Kashmiris, remove all armed forces from there, and allow Kashmiris on both sides to move freely across the co-called LOC. A beautiful area in between can be declared as “common land”, where Indians and Pakistanis can meet without requiring visa. For Balochistan, Pakistan should give complete freedom to its people, withdraw all armed forces from there, stop all army operations, and give the provincial government complete autonomy to make decisions regarding exploitation of the province’s vast resources.

India is spreading wings too early in the game. It will hurt them hard in a decade. It seems India doesnt want to speak to a country called Pakistan. Every pakistani will now see India as a mortal enemy.. and India’s overestimation of reliance of US will backfire. Having two big neighbours like China and Pakistan as mortal enemies will not help IndiaRecommend

It’s actually great if they raise this issue regarding all parts of Pakistan and beyond. Human right violation is a global problem, more common in totalitarian regime and agenda based governments.
In the end all that matter is ordinary Joe ‘s life. So if that help to end the miseries, they are very welcome. While we all know it’s a tit for tat thing. UN as a whole is not very helpful but having said that it’s a prime responsibility of the government to take care of her individuals. Other can only give you a nudge or a pat.
As a Pakistani, I welcome Indian nudge but I don’t think it’s a sincere effort. Again it’s my perception just like other Pakistanis. Recommend

Pakistan should be ready for a full scale war with India in the light of these provocations.
Both sides of borders should be sealed and army should be ready to respond within hours of attack. This time, the attack may be both from India side and Afghanistan side. So it appears a full scale war is imminent now.Recommend

We have sown the seed in the international field for the first time. Independent Baluchistan will be a reality soon. The scheme is working. It is very easy to provoke Pakistan into a reaction of walking into the laid trap. Pakistan has been brought into a state of defending itself vis-a-vis Baluchistan. Now India should play the right ball in the international arena. Indians should be ready for a nuclear war.Recommend
