PESHAWAR: Earthquake tremors were felt across Swat and areas in its vicinity on Wednesday.

The quake reportedly measured 5 on the Ritcher scale and had a depth of 180 kilometres. The epicentre of the quake was located in the frontier regions of either Afghanistan or Tajikistan.

Earlier on July 17, strong tremors were felt across Lahore and adjoining areas. The quake hit many areas, including Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Sheikhpura, among others.

The tremors had measured 4.4 on the Richter scale with a focal depth of 10 kilometres according to the meteorological department. The earthquake had also shaken residents in North India, especially Amritsar.
