Hafeez is going through rehabilitation in the National Cricket Academy these days under the supervision of Dr Riaz. “Hafeez is working hard and improving day by day,” Riaz told Express News while adding that the right-hand batsman is making a speedy recovery.
Hafeez incurred a calf injury during Pakistan’s tour to England. He was sent back after being ruled out of the remainder of the series.
Hafeez bowling test fiasco continues
Currently, he is giving five hours daily in three rehab sessions under the supervision of trainer Saboor Ahmed and Physiotherapist Muhammad Asad to recover from his injury.
Hafeez has also started batting in the nets which is a part of this rehabilitation programme and faced nearly 50 balls. The 35-year-old will undergo fitness assessment soon after Riaz deems him fit.
Hafeez out as Pakistan call-up Irfan
Hafeez managed 102 runs in first three Tests against England before being left out for the series decider at The Oval. He contributed 11 runs off 15 balls in Pakistan's defeat in the first ODI at the Ageas Bowl.
