Pakistan startup aims to bridge gap between salons and customers
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Pine.pk founder Waqar Ahmed shared the story of the company's inception. Ahmed got a small table plant as a gift while studying in the United States as an exchange student. After returning to Pakistan, he wanted to place a plant in his LUMS dorm but failed to find a single online platform that delivered one.
Later, he started visiting nurseries for his "pet plant” only to realise that finding a good nursery was a formidable task. He also found that one could virtually not find a variety of quality plants at just one place.
“We are a complete gardening solution, it is also about the expertise that would help the casual gardener get up and running in no time,” Ahmed said. Its products include imported plants such a dwarf variety of the Table Palm, Avocado, Araucaria, Rose Apple and Aglaonema among others.
