KARACHI: On the other hand, there are reports that officers accused of corruption are likely to face the axe. Officials said chief secretary Mohammad Siddique Memon along with seven other secretaries — Ghulam Phul, Dr Badar Mandhro,  Khadim Channa, Subhan Memon (already transferred),  Zulfiqar Shalwani, Manzoor Kanasro and Saqib Soomro — may be transferred soon. These officers are facing graft charges in the National Accountability Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency.

“There are serious allegations against them due to which the government has come under fire, therefore it has been decided to replace them with non-controversial bureaucrats,” said an official.
