NAB K-P: Three WWB employees jailed

They were allegedly involved in illegal appointments of 2,452 employees

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau K-P arrested Worker Welfare Board (WWB) former education deputy director Anwar Majeed and WWB former members Imroz Ahmedzai and Muhammad Zulfiqar Afghani on Saturday.

They were allegedly involved in illegal appointments of 2,452 employees – teaching, non-teaching as well as other staff members in WWB. During the course of enquiry, it was revealed that 2,936 appointments were made in WWB schools and institutions out of which 2,452 were illegal.

The candidates were appointed in violation of prescribed criteria – they were above the required age, were under qualified and were appointed without sanctioned vacancies. The accused will be produced before an accountability court to obtain their physical remand.
