Crime round-up: Four ‘gangsters’ arrested by police  

A Rangers spokesperson said the raid was conducted on a tip-off

KARACHI: The police claim to have arrested four alleged gangsters belonging to a Lyari-based gang for their involvement in various cases. Meanwhile, Rangers have recovered a huge cache of ammunition. The arrests were disclosed during a press conference by City SSP Faizullah Korejo at his office. According to him, four alleged gangsters, identified as Zubair Baloch, Ovais alias Dada, Aqib Akbar and Faizan Kareem, were arrested by the Baghdadi police. SSP Korejo said that two of the suspects, Zubair and Ovais, were commanders of the Baba Ladla group of a Lyari-based gang. Separately, Rangers claim to have recovered a huge cache of ammunition during a targeted raid in Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality. A Rangers spokesperson said the raid was conducted on a tip-off, adding that their personnel recovered hundreds of rounds of various weapons, Kalashnikovs and sniper rifles hidden in a warehouse.
