HYDERABAD:
In a case of alleged victimisation of two workers of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to Sindh home department and Sindh police for September 28.

The suspects, Masroor Ahmed Thebo and Noor Hassan, are nominated in an FIR for the August 14 cracker explosion in Hyderabad's Nai Pul area, which left at least 11 people injured.

The FIRs were lodged at Fort police station against unidentified suspects. The petitioners, Maqsood Ahmed Thebo and Rustam Khan Bacho, claimed that Masroor and Hassan were detained from their residences on August 15 and August 17, respectively.

"They were kept in illegal detention and their names were later added in the FIRs," claimed the petitioners. Masroor is a teacher at a primary government school while Hassan is a dispenser at a medical facility. The petitioners acknowledged that the two are also affiliated with the JSQM.

"There is no reality in the alleged crimes against the suspects ... and shown as members of JSMM [Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, which is a banned outfit], which is baseless and fabricated," argued the petitioners' counsel, Advocate Ali Palh.

The petitioners pleaded the court to order Hyderabad DIG Khadim Hussain Rind to appoint an impartial investigation officer to probe the case. They also appealed to the court to order the police officials to take action against SSP Irfan Baloch and SP Suhai Aziz and to restrain the police from lodging more cases against Masroor and Hassan.
