Torkham: Female FC personnel deployed

LANDI KOTAL: The Frontier Corps deployed female personnel for security checks at the Torkham border in Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber Agency after many Afghans complained on multiple occasions. They were against the fact that men were checking the women of their families. The female staff will help Afghan women crossing the border and will perform security checks. According to security forces’ sources, one woman has been deployed on the border for security search and to check the visa documents of women crossing the border. Locals also lauded the move of deploying female staff, saying it was against Pukhtun traditions to have women checked by male personnel and it will help overcome problems of families crossing the border.
