Verdict: Laadi Gang leader sentenced to death

Rest of the gang members are under trial

DERA GHAZI KHAN: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday sentenced to death Ibrahim Laadi, ringleader of the Laadi Gang, on three counts and life imprisonment on two counts. His property has also been confiscated.

According to the prosecutor, several members of the Laadi Gang had shot at a police team that had visited their hideout to arrest them on February 7, 2014.

Haidery Khosa, one of the gang members, had locked himself in a chest and shot at the policemen. The crossfire had continued for several hours.

Khosa was killed in the shootout. Kot Mubarak SHO Shafiq Leghari and three constables including Noor Muhammad and Muhammad Irfan were shot dead. DSP Aijaz was shot in the foot.

After the shootout had ended, Laadi and his accomplices had surrendered to DPO Mubashar Maikan.

On Wednesday, the ATC judge passed verdict on Ibrahim Laadi and sentenced him to death and life imprisonment.

The rest of the gang members are under trial. They are being kept at the district central jail.
