Weapons seized: Man awarded 29-year jail term  

Anti-terrorism court judge Saleem Jan also ordered confiscation of his property

PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court sentenced a man to 29 years of imprisonment on Tuesday over charges of keeping explosives and weapons. Anti-terrorism court judge Saleem Jan also ordered confiscation of his property and fined him Rs1,000 after he was convicted in the case. The prosecution counsel said convict Usman alias Mehboob, a resident of Mohmand Agency but currently residing in Dir Colony in Peshawar, was arrested on January 24. He added the police also seized two hand grenades and a pistol from him. He was awarded 14 years imprisonment and property confiscation under Section 5 of the explosives act, 14 years jail under section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, one year jail and Rs1,000 fine under Section 15 of ATA.
