According to a statement, the legal reference accompanies evidence against Altaf, i.e. his speech, in which he incited party workers to resort to violence.
'Aug 22 attack on media houses was pre-planned by MQM'
Miscreants launched attacks on several media offices on August 22, followed by a Sindh-wide crackdown against the party.
Subsequently, MQM’s senior leader Farooq Sattar announced to disassociate the affairs of the party from Altaf, saying all political affairs will be run from Karachi.

Since then, more than two dozen offices of MQM reportedly built on government’s land have been demolished while about 200 remain sealed as law enforcement agencies continue crackdown against the party.
The Ministry has requested the British government to take legal action against Altaf as he "tried destabiliing peace in Karachi". “Hussain did not only break British law but also went against international law,” reads the statement.
