RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police have decided to interrogate all men detained in Adiala jail for their alleged hand in various bank robberies.

The police are desperately looking for six men who robbed a branch of Bank Al-Falah at Churr Chowk on August 24.

As part of efforts to arrest the six robbers, the police have decided to approach the court of law to gain access to all men in the jail.

The police have also started geo-fencing to arrest the fleeing robbers.

The investigators have already shown the pictures of all robbers detained in the jail to the bank branch staff for identification.

“Police also obtained the data from Crime Record Officer besides collecting
the information from the DPOs of other districts to identify the robbers,” a police officer said, adding that the mobile data of all the bank staffers was also being obtained for the investigation.

The City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi confirmed the development saying police were investigating the bank robbery.

For the purpose, several police teams have been constituted under the supervision of the SSP (Operations), Irfan Tariq, and the SP Potohar, Muhammad Ateeque Tahir, tasking them to arrest the robbers, he said.

Abbasi said that the police had been investigating the bank robbery through different angles and the robbers would be arrested within four to five days.

It may here be mentioned that the Westridge police had already arrested the bank manager Asad Abbas and three employees of a security company providing guards to the bank for not making necessary security arrangements at the bank.
