With around two dozen Android games already under his belt, 17-year-old Pakistani developer Shahmeer Chaudhry has now launched his first ever game for PC.
Apartment 666, Shahmeer's first away from mobile game, shows the user stuck in an endless cycle of loops. “One day you wake up and realise that nobody is home. You try to exit the apartment only to wake up again in your room. You are stuck in an endless cycle of loops with only one way out,” reads the game's description.
Shahmeer’s games on Google Play Store have garnered over a million downloads so far.
“I started developing games in 2013 at the age of 14 and made my first game just two months after learning programming,” he told The Express Tribune.
Shahmeer says he is self-taught and learned a lot from YouTube.
Microsoft wins race to release first 4K video game console
His hard work has also been acknowledged by tech giant Microsoft.
“After a year of development, Microsoft contacted me and gave me a Windows Phone along with access to other software material to develop games,” he claimed.
Sony to reveal two new play station consoles next month
In 2015, Global game distributor Steam accepted Shahmeer’s concept for a horror game. And earlier this month, Apartment 666 was launched on Steam, which can be downloaded for $2.99.
