Back Home: Kidnapped girl rescued

The girl was safely handed to her family. Faqirabad ASP Waseem Riaz told media the accused were the girl’s neighbours

PESHAWAR: An 11-year-old girl, who had been kidnapped from Hayatabad Phase-III, has been rescued. She was reportedly abducted in the name of marriage. The accused were also arrested. The suspects were identified as Jibran and Irfan, both residents of Afghanistan. The kidnapped girl was a local and her father, Hazrat Osman, lodged an FIR with the Hayatabad police. The girl was safely handed over to her family. Faqirabad ASP Waseem Riaz told the media the accused were the girl’s neighbours. They moved out of Hayatabad, then kidnapped the girl. The ASP added they kept the girl in another house. The accused were to take her to Afghanistan when police foiled the bid.
