MUMBAI:
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who plays a mother in the six-minute-long short film Ranveer Ching Returns, said he always wanted to play the role of a mother.
The Rohit Shetty directorial for a leading food brand was released on Friday.
“I always wanted to play the role of a mother. And thanks to Rohit Shetty, I finally got to play this part,” he said.
The ad film shows Singh as a messiah of the masses, and has high-octane action, a romantic angle, a dance number and many not-to-miss moments.
In the film, the actor is starring in his own mother’s role as Maa Ching. It is packed with all the ingredients of a mini-film, plenty of madness and special effects.
While addressing the media, Shetty spoke about the madness one requires to make such a commercial.
“One needs to be little crazy for this kind of a thing. We all are little cracked in upper chamber. You must have seen in my film. You need to be a little mad for this line of work,” shared Shetty. “I was giving it a lot of thought. ‘Should I do it, How to do it?’ Then Ranveer Singh joined the team and he said let’s go all out.”
Shetty feels the Bajirao Mastani star is not only a solid actor but also possesses the talents of an amazing scriptwriter. “Special effects in the film are done by Ajay Devgn’s company. And though Ranveer Singh never shows off, he is a very good scriptwriter as the basic concept of the ad was his.”
Tamannaah of Baahubali fame was also all praises for Singh after working on the project with him. “The way you portray heroism is one of its kind. I think Ranveer Singh is super hot in this film,” she said.
