Fighting Thalassemia: Efforts of Sundus Foundation praised

Rafique appreciated the Sundus Molecular Analysis (SMA) project aimed at the elimination of thalassemia

LAHORE: Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique visited Sundus Foundation on Thursday and inquired after the children suffering from thalassemia, haemophilia and blood cancer. He distributed medicines and gifts among them. Rafique also visited the laboratory and reviewed working of various machines. He appreciated the Sundus Molecular Analysis (SMA) project aimed at the elimination of thalassemia. He said he was pleased to see that that patients at the foundation were in good health owing to the provision of treatment facilities. He said the government stood by Sundus Foundation to fight thalassemia. He urged the well-to-do people to support the organisation. Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah assured Sundus Foundation chairman Munnoo Bhai of all-out cooperation in expanding its projects. Munnoo Bhai and Sundus Foundation president Yaseen Khan thanked the secretary.
