PESHAWAR: Travel fares have been revised for railway passengers travelling between Peshawar Cantonment Railway Station and city stations. Officials of the railway authority have confirmed the development. They said the fare has increased from Rs15 to Rs75 for one side between two stations within provincial metropolis. According to the officials, the increase is in accordance with government policies aimed at countering Pakistan Railway’s deficit. The bus and wagon fare for the same route is Rs10. Meanwhile, officials are also concerned as the increase in fare rates has generated a negative impact. They said there has been a decrease in passengers travelling between city and Cantt stations.
