An Uttar Pradesh Islamic seminary on Thursday issued a fatwa against JuD chief Hafiz Saeed terming him anti-Islam.

The edict branded Saeed an “outcast” from Islam and declared those who follow him or consider him Muslim “illegal,” The Indian Express reported. The fatwa was issued by Manzar-i-Islam Saudagran, affiliated with the Dargah Ala Hazrat, in connection with a query by a Jaipur-based man. Saeed has no connection with Islam, the edict stated.

The Jaipur-based man had stated in his query that the JuD chief considered those writing against Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Muslim, was a proponent of anti-religious thought and instigated people to foment terror. In the fatwa, Mufti Saleem stated that having any connection with individuals working against Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was “haram.”

The edict said that since Saeed had connections with such elements, he stood outside the pale of Islam. The fatwa said considering him Muslim and listening to what he said was also forbidden.  According to the edict, the JuD chief championed an ideology premised on terrorism and had brought into disrepute Islam and Muslims the world over with his antics.  Thus, the edict stated, it was mandatory for all Muslims to keep away from him and his ideology.

Pashtun | 8 years ago | Reply if you read the history of their so called "aala hazrat" you will get to know that he was the person who had issued fatwa in the favor of british rule in united india. he was the person who had issued fatwa against those who were fighting against british tyranny in subcontinent. he was the one who was in the favor of british against Ottomans. who cares about the fatwas of grave worshipers ? It is strictly prohibited to offer prayers behind an innovator and grave worshiping is SHIRK. so khali wali about his so called fatwa. and to all Pashtuns who have verbal exchanges here with punjabis. let me tell you one thing that I do not like punjabis like most of other Pakistanis (Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi, Kashmiri) because i know about their hypocritical nature but we should not forget that Pashtuns are the soldiers of Islam and Kashmiris are our brothers and we have to stand with them as according to the teachings of Islam
