Jaya was asked to speak to a group of students but in the midst of the conversation, she started lashing out at the photographers. She interrupted the senior journalist who was taking her interview and shouted at a student saying, "Put your mobile down. I can't see, you're flashing it right into my eye."

"Please stop taking pictures. I hate it, it is right into my eyes. These are basic manners we Indians have to learn. Just because you have a camera you have the freedom to take anybody's picture any time without asking that person? These are basic rules that all colleges and schools and parents should teach their children. It is very annoying, I have a freedom to say no. I hate indiscipline."

Jaya didn't end her rant there. She stopped talking during the interview and said, "You can take my photos and I will talk later. You finish - as much as you want then I will talk." And then she sat down for a few minutes quietly to prove her point.
