Girls grab top four positions in HSSC exams

Four girls have attained the top positions in this year’s Higher Secondary School (HSSC) examinations. A total of 58,032 candidates’ results were announced on Wednesday.
The exams, administered by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), were held between April and June.
Girls in Mansehra clinch top three positions in annual B Com exams
There has been an increase in the average passing percentage, which includes regular and private candidates, as it rose to 74.33 per cent from 73.5 per cent in the previous year.
Moreover, 10 of the top 15 positions in the five fields of study were claimed by girls.
Meanwhile, a total of 35 unfair means cases were reported, according to the education board.
Aateqa Hashmi from Hamza Army Public School and College secured the first position with 1,049 marks.
Ayesha Aslam from Fauji Foundation College for Girls and Rumaisa Maryam from Army Public School and College for Girls shared second place with 1,047 marks.
Fizza Ayaz from Hamza Army Public School and College was next in line with 1,046 marks.
In the pre-engineering group, the distinction holders comprised of Anas Ali from Army Public School and College topped position 1,034 marks, Siddiqa Shakoor from Fazaia Inter College took the second position with 1,032 marks, Soha Ayaz from Army Public School and College, who secured the third position with 1,030 marks.
Additionally, in the General Science group, Hafsa Kamal, a student of Fazaia Inter College, held the first position with 1,001 marks.
Muhammad Ghayas Baig from Fazaia Degree College achieved the second highest marks with a result of 987.

Javeria Musa from Fauji Foundation College for Girls New Lalazar was in third place with 981 marks.
The topper in humanities was Muhammad Fahad from the Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel with 956 marks.
In addition, Basmah Rehman, a private candidate, got the second position with 927 marks.
While, Zahidur Rehman from Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel and Hala Bibi from FG Postgraduate College for Women, shared third place with 921 marks.
In commerce, Warda Khurshid from Punjab College of Information Technology secured the first position with 949 marks.
Wajiha Mohsin from Punjab College of Information Technology attained the second highest marks with 889 marks. Tasmia Azhar of Punjab College of Information Technology and Muaviya Naseer of Punjab College tied for third 927 marks.
