Female students secure all three top positions in secondary school exams

PESHAWAR: Girls secured all three top positions in the Secondary School Certificate results announced by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar on Tuesday.

Alishah Gulalai Amjad from Frontier Youth Academy Hayatabad secured first position with an impressive score of 1,042 out of 1,100, while Aleeza Gul from Peshawar Model School Charsadda stood second with a score of 1,039. Lastly, Maria Maqsood from Peshawar Model School Charsadda earned 1,038 marks and secured third position in the examinations.

These were also the top three positions in the science section, while Abdul Basit of Usmania Children Academy Nothia Jadeed Peshawar secured first position in the Arts group with a score of 952 marks. The second position in the Arts group was claimed by Nadia Khan of Agricultural University Public School and College Peshawar who secured 938 marks. Lastly, Mahnoor Khurshid of Peshawar Public School (girls) Hayatabad, Peshawar stood third with a score of 936 marks.

At least 70,339 students appeared in the SSC examination under BISE Peshawar, out of which 56,247 cleared the exams. Thus, around 79.97% students passed the exams successfully. Around 83.62% (34,525 out of 41,288) male students passed the exams while 86.88% (16,418 out of 18,897) female students achieved the same.

Furthermore, at least 7,889 private students appeared in the exams and around 50% (3,974) passed successfully, while 58.95% of private female candidates (1,281 out of 2,173) also passed.

In the Science group, at least 48,297 male and female students appeared in the exam out of which 42,423 were declared passed. In the Humanities group, 62.67% (13,775 out of 21,950) students passed the exam.

In the additional subjects, 92 students appeared out of which 49 passed. According to the result book, Peshawar Model School Charsadda secured 14 while Frontier Youth Academy Hayatabad secured 11 of the top 20 positions. Some of the students jointly held these positions.
