PESHAWAR: A division bench of the Peshawar High Court suspended the order issued by the RTI Commissioner to Board of Governors (BoG) of Ayub Medical and Teaching Hospital. The order demanded the provision of details of the meetings convened by the BoG.

The bench, comprising Justice Qaiser Rasheed and Justice Roohul Amin, also issued a notice to the commissioner and sought his reply on a petition filed by the BoG of the hospital. The petition was filed through the board’s counsel Zahid Idrees Mufti.

Mufti said a local journalist Syed Kausar Naqvi has filed an application seeking the provision of details of all meetings of the hospital’s BoG under RTI Act. He added sensitive information concerning policy matters that was discussed at the meeting could not be handed over to the applicant.

He asked the bench to suspend order. The bench accepted the request and a stay order was granted.
