The city’s residents want to know whether the rulers have any substantive plans to combat the garbage menace. While some of it is burnt in bonfires that unleash a vile black cloud that chokes anyone who walks by, there is no further action taken of the disposed trash once burned. It is unclear how the city waste is ultimately supposed to be disposed of. Waste disposal and treatment is a whole process, from garbage generation to disposal, it must be addressed in a systematic way.
I want to draw the provincial government’s and municipal authorities’ attention towards creating a cleaner city. They have an obligation to design proper waste disposal systems, so that their salaries can be justified.
