Curbing militancy: ‘Period of fear is over in Swat’
Malakand Division General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Asif Ghafoor has said the period of fear and terrorism is over and the people of Swat are enjoying the fruits of a successful operation against militants in the region.
He expressed these views at Swat Press Club on Monday while inaugurating a monument for journalists, who rendered their lives in the line of duty during the days of conflict in Swat.
The GOC said that restoration of peace was made possible by the sacrifices rendered by the journalists of Swat.
He maintained journalists of Swat and law-enforcement agencies have spearheaded efforts to eliminate anti-social elements.
