Connected journey: Railways to install Wifi devices

Souces say this would improve the status of Pakistan Railways and make trains journey more pleasant for travellers

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways (PR) is planning to install internet equipment and Wifi points at all divisional railway stations and trains to  provide better facilities to the passengers. “Passengers will shortly be able to use free internet services via Wifi while travelling with Pakistan Railways,” said official sources in the Ministry of Railways. The facility will be available at major railway stations throughout the country and all passenger trains, the sources added. In this regard, the railways minister has also established a committee under the chairmanship of Director General Information Technology to design a framework for the free wifi project. The sources said these steps would improve the status of Pakistan Railways and make trains journey more pleasant for travellers.
