ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Thursday granted physical remand of a land developer to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in housing scheme case.

The suspect was arrested by the NAB, Rawalpindi for delaying development of a housing scheme of the Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society with mala fide intentions.

He also submitted illegal claims of cost escalation to the tune of Rs209 million, a statement issued by the bureau said.

The bureau’s team of engineers carried out analysis of the development work viz-a-vis payments made to the contractor, calculated the actual escalation on all the bills and submitted its report that illegal claims had been made by the developer.
