BMP Commandant Babar Bashir gave a press briefing in this regard at Rakhi Gaaj on Wednesday.
He said they had stopped an oil tanker at a picket on Tuesday night. They found 50 sacks carrying 880kg hashish in secret compartments in the oil tanker.
Muhammad Nawaz, the truck driver, and his helper Muhammad Qasim were arrested. Bashir said the police were interrogating them.
Bashir said the two had told them that a driver from Peshawar had asked them to drive the tanker up to Loralai. He said they had received an initial instalment of Rs25,000 to take the truck there. The remaining amount was to be paid once the truck had reached its destination.
