Encroachment: Court asks for report on Gadap

SHC bench directs maintenance of status quo in petition alleging encroachment of public parking.

KARACHI: An SHC bench, comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, appointed a court official as commissioner and directed the maintenance of the status quo in a petition alleging the encroachment of public parking.

The petitioner, Muhammad Saleem, filing a public interest litigation and maintained that the Gadap Town Municipal Administration in league with other officials are encouraging encroachment on an amenity plot reserved for parking where alleged encroachers are constructing town houses and commercial buildings. The petition will now be heard after the commissioner’s report.
