RAWALPINDI:

As the nurse, who was injured by a man in a knife attack in the Morgah area here last night, battling for life, the police are grappling in the dark to trace the attacker(s). Doctors have operated upon the injured nurse, Iram Shehzadi, at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH) and are now trying to save her life, the police added. The two nurses — Iram Shehzadi, 24, and Anam Ashraf, 26, — were stabbed by an unknown man at DHA Chowk on GT Road at 7:30pm on Sunday when they were crossing the road to reach their hostel. As a result of the attack, Naz died on the spot, as the knife ruptured her heart, and Shahzadi sustained critical injuries in the chest.
