CIIT makes it to top 10 universities in developing countries

A satisfactory report was given based on the performance indicators

The Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) has secured a place among top 10 universities in the developing countries.

“My vision as the chancellor of the CIIT is to make it one of the top 500 universities in the world,” said the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Rana Tanveer Hussain.

Govt earmarks only Rs2m for research & development

He was chairing a meeting with a delegation from CIIT, headed by Rector Junaid Zaidi, said a press release on Monday.

A detailed review of the institution’s performance since its inception to date was given to Hussain.


A satisfactory report was given based on the performance indicators.

The CIIT rector discussed important issues at hand and asked for the support from the Ministry of Science and Technology to improve the standard of education in Pakistan in the field of science and technology in particular.

He also directed the CIIT delegation to take measures for improving the ranking of the CIIT.
